July 30th, 2012: the Merrick FD responded to a report of a car versus pole at the intersection of Babylon Turnpike and Smith Street. Upon arrival units were met with a single vehicle accident. The driver refused medical attention and all fire department units were under the command of Chief of Department Fernandez [6400].
![June 7th, 2014: Merrick firefighters operated one line at the scene of a reported house fire at 89 Frankel Boulevard. After encountering a heat and light smoke condition firefighters found a small body of fire between an old roof and a newly installed roof. The one line held the fire in place and no working fire was transmitted.
