Sunrise Highway [12-28-22]

On the night of Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, the Merrick Fire Department operated on the scene of a car fire in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway just east of Babylon Turnpike. Merrick Engine 644 was the first engine to arrive on scene and put one hand line into operation. The fire was quickly knocked down, all occupants made it safely out of the vehicle, and there were no injuries. All fire department units were under the command of Merrick Chief of Department Gies [6400].
