Sunrise and Babylon [12-17-12]

Late in the afternoon on December 17th, the Merrick Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. The location of the accident was given as Sunrise Highway and Babylon Turnpike. A Nassau County officer already on scene confirmed the pin. Nassau County ESU 2424 was also dispatched and responded to the scene. Firefighters from Empire Hose 3 [Engine 641] put the tool into operation and were able to extricate the driver of the Toyota sedan. One aided was taken from the scene and transported via the Merrick Fire Department. The other person involved refused medical attention. All fire department units were under the command of Chief Fernandez [6400].
