Jefferson Avenue [6-14-20]

On the evening of Sunday, June 14th, 2020 the Mineola Fire Department was called to a house fire on Jefferson Avenue off Willis Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling. A signal ninety-eight [smoke showing] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Carle Place was designated the FAST and responded to the scene along with an engine from Williston Park. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation for a fire at the one, four corner of the residence. No working fire was transmitted, and the main body of fire was quickly knocked down. Standing by for Mineola during the operation were units from East Williston and Garden City. The scene was placed under control within thirty minutes.
