Second Street [1-14-22]

The Mineola Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a multiple alarm fire on Second Street off Main Street on the night of Friday, January 14th, 2022. Firefighters battled fire in the basement as well as on the first and second floors of a two-story mixed occupancy. During the operation firefighters discovered that fire had extended into the cockloft. Multiple hand lines were put into place and after two and a half hours the scene was deemed under control. All occupants made it safely out of the building and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire department units were under the command of Mineola Chief of Department Andrew Martone Jr. [1600].
