Public Safety Center Delivery [5-5-20]
On the night of Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 several departments from within Nassau County’s Fifth Battalion met at the Roslyn train station in Roslyn Heights. From there units drove to the Nassau County Public Safety in Westbury to deliver food to the various people who work behind the scenes and have seen an increased workload in recent weeks due to the COVID19 pandemic. This included feeding police and fire dispatchers [CB and FireCom] as well as those working in Nassau County Hazmat. The idea was brought up by Sea Cliff Assistant Chief James Ajamian [5702] with Roslyn Rescue Chief Kevin Williams [5600] helping set it up.
Several eateries within the fifth battalion were able to make the delivery possible. They were: Vito’s, Delicious Pizza, and North Farms [all in Glen Cove], Bayville Delicatessen and Pizzeria, Arata’s Deli [Sea Cliff], Ciro’s Pizza [Glen Head / Glenwood], Gino’s of Roslyn, and Pietro’s of Oyster Bay.
