Southern State Parkway [5-3-22]

In the evening hours of Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, the North Bellmore Fire Department operated on the scene of a confirmed car fire. The vehicle was located on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway just east of the Oakfield Avenue overpass. One hand line was put into operation off Engine 655 to extinguish the vehicle. A second hand line was put into operation off Engine 656 for an area of brush that had caught fire. All fire was quickly extinguished and there were no reported injuries.
