The location of the incident was 1589 Tulip Avenue, just off of Merrick Avenue. Upon arrival, the first Chief on scene reported fire on the second floor of a private dwelling with fire showing through the roof. Standing by in North Bellmore quarters was North Merrick Engine 674, East Meadow Ladder 617 and Ambulance 615. At least one line was put into operation off of Engine 655. Firefighters had the main body of fire knocked down within forty minutes and the Fire Marshal was requested to the scene with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
