Garden Avenue [6-19-19]

Late on the night of Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 firefighters operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] in the North Massapequa fire district. The main body of fire was located on the number two side of a private dwelling on Garden Avenue. Due to the significant fire load there was extension to exposure two – a home on Poplar Street. After overhaul it was found that the exposure only sustained exterior damage. Multiple hand lines were put into operation to put out the fire which is under investigation. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Wantagh, Seaford [FAST], Massapequa, Bethpage, and North Bellmore among others.
