Chuck Varese Tournament [5-11-19]

On Saturday, May 11th, 2019 the Northport Fire Department hosted the 12th annual Chuck Varese Extrication Tournament. The annual event is held in memory of Northport Firefighter Chuck Varese who was hit and killed by a drug impaired driver while riding his motorcycle in 2008. Several departments from both Nassau and Suffolk Counties were on hand for the event to put their skills to the test. At the end of the day the top three finishers were the East Northport, Commack, and Huntington Manor Fire Departments. Huntington Manor had the fastest extrication time of the day and North Bellmore was recognized as the furthest traveled.
