Brower and Sunnybrook [7-3-12]
The Oceanside Fire Department responded to the intersection of Brower Avenue and Sunnybrook Drive East for a motor vehicle accident on the afternoon of July 3rd. Upon arrival, units were met with a two vehicle accident and an aided in each car. Initially, First Assistant Chief Klein requested that Baldwin send one ambulance to the scene. However, after two County ambulances [2364 and 2374] arrived on scene, Baldwin Ambulance 2010 was disregarded. Members of the Oceanside Fire Department along with Fourth Precinct Officers and County Medics removed the victims from both vehicles. Each was stabilized and transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital. Oceanside Ambulance 242 transported a sixty-four year old male complaining of right knee numbness. The other aided was taken in 2374 and was a ninety-year old male. For the older gentleman, a line was put in place and a trauma team requested. From the Oceanside Fire Department, Engine 248 and Ladder 2442 were on scene with Chiefs 241A, B, and C. After fire department units took up the scene was left in the hands of Fourth Precinct Officers.
