Long Beach Road [5-30-20]
On the morning of Saturday, May 30th, 2020 the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to BurgerFi on Long Beach Road for an automatic fire alarm. Oceanside Fire Dispatch advised responding units that Nassau County Police were on scene with a smoke condition inside the building. The alarm was then upgraded from a unit call to a general alarm for all companies. When firefighters arrived on scene, they confirmed the smoke condition and forced entry into the building. A fire was found in the kitchen area. One hand line was stretched and operated off Oceanside Engine 249 and the fire was quickly knocked down. Members of Salamander Hook and Ladder worked to vent the building of smoke. No working fire was transmitted, or mutual aid requested. All searches in the building were negative and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Oceanside First Assistant Chief Caroccia [241A].
