Long Beach Road [12-17-11]

Just before three in the afternoon on December 17th, the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car into a building. The address of the call was 3190 Long Beach Road between Weidner and Montgomery Avenues. Upon arrival, units were met with a Mercury Sable sedan that had gone through the north side of a vacant furniture store. The sedan had crashed through the wall after having collided with another vehicle in the Burger King parking lot. Units on scene included Ladders 244 and 2442 along with Engine 243 and Ambulance 242A. Members of Oceanside Truck set up a cutting station so that the building could be "shored" up to ensure stability. Assistant Chief Klein was on scene as incident command as was Nassau County Police from the Fourth Precinct.
