Fairway Road [5-4-12]

On the evening of May 4th, Fourth Precinct officers responded to 3465 Fairway Road [Golf Drive and Niles Street as the cross streets] for a possible house fire. Officers who arrived on scene found smoke coming from the two story private dwelling and at the same time Fire Com began receiving multiple calls for the fire. The Oceanside Fire Department was toned out at 18:23 hours for the fire and once an ex-captain arrived on scene he transmitted the signal ten [working fire]. First due Truck 2442 took to the front of the home while first due Oceanside Engine 247 immediately took to a hydrant and put a line into place. This was one of two lines put into operation with the other coming off Oceanside Engine 2482. The fire was found to be in the one, two corner of the attic in the home and was quickly knocked down by members on scene. Baldwin Ladder 206 responded to the scene as an extra truck company on scene while Island Park responded with Ladder 223 acting as the FAST team. Mutual aid included apparatus from Rockville Centre, Baldwin, Island Park, and Long Beach.
