Thompson Avenue [4-16-15]
In the early morning hours of April 16th, 2015 the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 205 Thompson Avenue off of Fulton Avenue. Oceanside Fire Dispatch advised responding units that two calls were received reporting the house fire. When the first units arrived on scene it was reported that all exterior fire appeared knocked down; however, moments later smoke began to push from the number four side of the residence. Oceanside Third Assistant Chief Rob Sutton [2403] recommended to responding Chief Madden [2400] that he transmit a signal ten [working fire] and the signal was transmitted.
Oceanside Engine 246 was the first engine to arrive on scene. Four lines were stretched during the operation with at least two of them going into operation. Mutual aid consisted of a FAST from Island Park and East Rockaway Ladder 403 [put to work on arrival] to the scene. Long Beach and Island Park stood by for Oceanside during the operation. All fire department units were under the command of Oceanside Chief of Department JT Madden [2400].
