1st Street [11-21-17]
At 02:17 hours on the morning of Tuesday, November 21st, 2017 the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire next to 3417 1st Street in the dead end off Mott Street. As fire department units were responding they were advised that multiple calls were being received reporting the fire and that Nassau County Police were on scene reporting a working fire. When the first fire department units arrived on scene they were met with fire showing on the one and two sides of a two-story private dwelling. Upon discovering that the fire had breached a window on the front of the home and extended inside a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted. Baldwin was designated the FAST for the operation and responded with Ladder 207. Oceanside Engine 249 was the first engine to arrive on scene and had two hand lines stretched and operating to put out the fire. Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the fire which is currently under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office. There were no reported injuries and all fire department units were under the command of Oceanside Chief of Department Kevin Klein [241].
