Lido Boulevard [8-12-15]

Just before 01:00 hours on the morning of Wednesday, August 12th, 2015 the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department was called to Malibu [1500 Lido Boulevard] for a generator fire. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with a truck fire with a generator mounted on the back of the truck. Firefighters were advised by the truck’s driver that both the truck and the generator had been recently fueled fully. A hand line was operated off of Point Lookout-Lido Engine 255 and foam was flown to remove any risk of fire. It was believed that no fuel had leaked from the truck or the generator; however, Nassau County Hazmat was still called to the scene due to the nature of the incident. All fire department units were up within one hour’s time under the command of Point Lookout Lido Chief of Department Weiner [2500].
