Loop Parkway [7-2-17]

Around 21:40 hours on the night of Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 the Merrick Fire Department was called to motor vehicle accident with overturn and fire on the Meadowbrook State Parkway at the Loop Parkway. Around the same time the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department was notified of a motor vehicle accident with overturn and fire but was advised it was on the Loop Parkway. Due to the multiple locations being given both departments continued in and found the accident on the eastbound Loop Parkway west of the Meadowbrook Parkway – in the second battalion department’s district. Upon arrival firefighters found a two-car accident with one car on its side and a small fire in its engine compartment. There was no entrapment and firefighters knocked down the fire using water cans. One person received minor injuries in the accident.
