Lakeview Avenue [12-19-12]
On the night of December 19th, the Rockville Centre Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at the intersection of North Village and Lakeview Avenues. Multiple calls were being received reporting the fire and police on scene were confirming a working fire with no one inside the home. When the fire department arrived on scene they found smoke coming from a very familiar home – 82 Lakeview Avenue. Back in September of 2011, the Rockville Centre Fire Department battled an afternoon fire in the home. Like the previous instance, the signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and the request for mutual aid began. Responding to the scene was a ladder from Lynbrook, engine from Lakeview, and an ambulance from South Hempstead. When Lynbrook Truck Company was put to work East Rockaway Ladder 403 was called to the scene and became the new FAST team. Firefighters on scene were able to make a quick knockdown of the fire but were faced with a considerable amount of overhaul. All fire department units on scene were under the command of Chief Busching [4401].
