Babylon Turnpike [10-18-22]
In the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, the Roosevelt Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a second alarm fire on Babylon Turnpike off Frederick Avenue. Firefighters put two hand lines and one tower ladder into operation for a large rubbish fire with extension into a vacant commercial building. Firefighters had the main body of fire quickly knocked down and were able to keep the fire from extending further into the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Roosevelt Chief of Department Hector Tyler Jr. [7300] had command of the incident.
