East Clinton Avenue [3-18-17]
On the afternoon of Saturday, March 18th, 2017 the Roosevelt Fire Department was dispatched to a reported basement fire at 30 East Clinton Avenue between Nassau Road and Anna Avenue. As fire department units were responding they were advised that Nassau County Police were on scene reporting smoke showing. Roosevelt Safety Officer Williams [7330] was among the first fire department units to arrive on scene and also reported smoke showing. Upon further investigation firefighters found that they had fire in the floor of an added-on entranceway at the back of the house. The burned area was opened and firefighters checked for extension; however, it was contained to a small area. One hand line was put into operation off Engine 733. All fire department units were under the command of Roosevelt Chief Derrick Fennell [7300].
