East Fulton Avenue [10-29-19]
On the night of Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 the Roosevelt Fire Department was called to smoke in the house at a home on East Fulton Avenue off Babylon Turnpike. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a two and a half story private dwelling. Roosevelt command requested that mutual aid units be notified including a FAST to the scene. North Merrick was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Heavy Rescue 678. One engine from Uniondale and one from Freeport along with Ladder 2 from Hempstead also responded to the scene. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation for a fire in the attic of the residence. Standing by for Roosevelt during the operation was Uniondale Ladder 7544, Hempstead Engine 5, and North Merrick Ambulance 679. All occuapnts made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
