Southern State Parkway [4-20-12]
The Roosevelt Fire Department responded along with Nassau County Emergency Services to a motor vehicle accident on the Southern State Parkway on the night of April 20th. The accident was toned out just before 22:00 and took place at exit 22N [the exit to the Meadowbrook State Parkway]. New York State Police on scene requested the presence of the Hurst tool forthwith to the scene. Emergency Services Units 2422 and 2423 along with First Precinct Officers responded to the scene to assist. The original dispatch stated entrapment and fire but the fire proved negative. However, the two occupants of the one vehicle accident required extricated with one of them being transported in serious condition. The victim in serious condition was the driver, transported in County Ambulance 2361 while the other occupant was transported in 2373. Roosevelt Engine 732 put the tool into place to free the occupants. After the aided were freed, packaged, and transported FD units took up.
