Whitehouse Avenue [10-14-18]
On the morning of Sunday, October 14th, 2018 firefighters operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Whitehouse Avenue in Roosevelt. The main body of fire was in the basement of a two-story private dwelling. Roosevelt Engine 733 was the first engine to arrive on scene and had two lines stretched with at least one line in operation. North Merrick, Uniondale, South Hempstead, and Hempstead were among the departments called for mutual aid. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Roosevelt Chief of Department Fennell [7300].
