Donald Street [1-12-17]
Around 04:25 hours on the morning of Thursday, January 12th, 2017 the Roslyn Fire Companies were dispatched to a reported house fire at 16 Donald Street off Roslyn Road in Roslyn Heights. Responding fire department units were advised that multiple calls were being received along with various addresses. When fire department units arrived on scene they were met with heavy fire showing from 16 Donald Street – a two story private dwelling. Roslyn Highlands Engine 592 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and quickly put two hose lines into operation. Port Washington was designated the FAST for the operation and an engine from Glenwood and ladder from East Norwich responded to the scene. In all a total of three hose lines were stretched with at least two going into operation. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The scene was placed under control around 06:00 hours.
