Roslyn Extrication Drill [10-28-17]

On Saturday, October 28th, 2017 the Roslyn Fire Companies held a school bus extrication drill hosted by Starfire Training Systems Inc. of Florida. Firefighters began the day with a classroom session where they went over the ins and outs of school bus extrication. Once the classroom session concluded firefighters made their way to Roslyn Highlands Station 2 for the hands-on portion of the training. Firefighters and Starfire instructors had two mini school buses to work with. During the hands-on training firefighters cut several parts of the bus including the rear doors, windshield, sections of the roof, and some of the buses’ seats. While this served as a refresher for some members it taught others a few new tactics.
