Eisenhower 9/11 Memorial
The Eisenhower Park 9/11 Memorial based in East Meadow, New York was built to honor the Nassau residents who perished on that tragic Tuesday. Those names are written out across ten walls listed in alphabetical order by the town they lived in and total three-hundred and forty-four in all. Next to each person’s name is their affiliation with 9/11 whether it was a company they worked for, firefighters, police officers, or passengers on one of the hijacked airliners. The memorial is often frequented by loved ones of the victims who come to have a solemn moment, to remember, or to leave flowers and candles in remembrance.
