Thursday, February 23rd, 2023: the South Hempstead Fire Department operated on the scene of a single vehicle accident involving a car versus house at the intersection of Long Beach Road and Cedar Street. There was no entrapment, fire, or injuries.

When units arrived, they found the overturned auto to be north of the Southern State Parkway and in the Hempstead fire district. ![Sunday, April 8th, 2012 [Easter Sunday]: The South Hempstead Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with overturn on the Southern State Parkway at exit 20 [Grand Avenue]. Upon arrival units found a single vehicle accident in which a westbound Nissan Altima struck and went over two guardrails. The vehicle landed upright in the shoulder of the eastbound lanes. The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital.
