Argyle Road [5-2-18]

The Stewart Manor Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an Argyle Road house fire with people possibly trapped on the night of Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with heavy fire on the first and second floors of a two-story private dwelling leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire]. Firefighters began to make a push into the home; however, after learning that there was no one trapped inside and due to a significant fire load command ordered everyone out of the home. Several departments were mutual aided to assist including Elmont, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, and South Floral Park among others. Garden City was designated the FAST for the operation. A total of three people [two civilians and one firefighter] were transported to area hospitals with none of the injuries considered life threatening. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
