Fernwood Terrace [5-13-20]

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 the Stewart Manor Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire]. The fire was in the basement of a two-story private dwelling on Fernwood Terrace in the dead end off Salisbury Avenue. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put one line into operation resulting in a quick knockdown of the main body of fire. Among the departments called for mutual aid was New Hyde Park, Floral Park, South Floral Park, and Garden City. Franklin Square was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Ladder 713. The scene was placed under control within thirty minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
