Jerusalem Avenue [8-3-12]
Just after 22:00 hours on the night of August 3rd, the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with overturn and entrapment. The location of the accident was said to be in front of 1123 Jerusalem Avenue. First Precinct officers were among the first on scene and advised ESU, who was also called to the scene, to respond forthwith as the entrapment was confirmed. When ESU arrived on scene, they removed a portion of the roof of a Ford Expedition to extricate its driver. Once removed, the driver was transported to NUMC in Ambulance 2357 with head injuries and a trauma team requested upon his arrival. The driver of the overturned SUV was the only aided on scene as the other two vehicles involved were parked and unoccupied. Uniondale Engine 7533 was on scene and put a line into place for precautionary measures. Unit 756 also responded bringing additional manpower to the scene. All fire department units were under the command of First Assistant Chief John Skelly [7501]. The scene was left in the hands of Nassau County Police.
