Mildred Place [6-2-19]
At approximately 03:18 hours on the morning of Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Mildred Place between Robinwood Avenue and Stanton Boulevard. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with a fire in the basement of a two-story private dwelling leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire]. Uniondale Engine 7522 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and had two hand lines stretched with at least one line put into operation. North Bellmore was designated the FAST for the operation and responded to the scene with Ladder 658. Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the fire and were able to keep it contained to the basement. Among the other departments called for mutual aid were Roosevelt, South Hempstead, and Hempstead. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Uniondale First Assistant Chief Ashley [7501].
