Southern State Parkway [4-21-12]
Around 01:45 hours on April 21st, the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with pin. The location was given as the Southern State Parkway westbound at the Meadowbrook Parkway and that units were responding to a car into a tree. Already on scene, police requested the presence of the tool to the scene and that there were two aided inside the one vehicle. However, police also stated that the car was located off the roadway east of the Meadowbrook and so North Merrick was dispatched to the scene as well. Both departments responded to the scene along with ESU. All three worked in extricating the two occupants. Uniondale Ambulance 7512 transported the passenger to NUMC for evaluation. North Merrick transported the driver, after approximate fifteen minute extrication, with various injuries to NUMC. North Merrick Chief 6700 was incident command of the accident which one was one many during a damp, April night.
