Webster Avenue [8-12-15]

At 02:00 hours on the morning of Wednesday, August 12th, 2015 the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a male on fire at 579 Webster Avenue off of Greengrove Avenue. As fire department units began to respond they were advised that they were responding to a possible garage with a burn victim. When firefighters arrived on scene they confirmed that they had a fire in a detached garage and a male with burns to his body. Uniondale Engine 7533 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and immediately put a line into operation to fight the fire. Minutes into the operation Uniondale command transmitted a signal 98 [smoke showing]. The fire was quickly knocked down and the cause remained under investigation. The burn victim was transported to the Nassau County Medical Center by a Nassau County Police ambulance. all fire department units were under the command of Uniondale First Assistant Chief Vaughn Tucker [7501].
