Midwood Street [7-1-17]

On the night of Saturday, July 1st, 2017 the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a basement fire at 459 Midwood Place off Hawthorne Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling. Moments later the signal ten [working fire] was transmitted. Uniondale Engine 753 and Ladder 7544 were the first engine and ladder to arrive on scene. At least one line was put into operation resulting in a quick knockdown. There were no reported injuries and North Bellmore was designated the FAST for the operation. All fire department units were under the command of Uniondale Chief of Department Smith [7500].
