Hempstead Turnpike [11-11-20]

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 the Uniondale Fire Department was called to a truck fire at 755 Hempstead Turnpike off Meadowbrook Road. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with a confirmed garbage truck fire in the parking lot of the building. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. During the operation, a truck company from Hempstead was called to the scene to assist – Hempstead Truck One responded. The driver of the garbage truck was able to safely exit the vehicle and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
