Walton Avenue [1-22-22]

On the afternoon of Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, the Uniondale Fire Department operated on the scene of a house fire on Walton Avenue off Hempstead Turnpike. The fire was located between the first and second floors of a two-story private dwelling. During the operation a signal ninety-eight [smoke showing] was transmitted and a first alarm assignment requested to stage nearby. Firefighters stretched two hand lines, put at least one hand line into operation, and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the occupants of the residence made it out safely. All fire department units were under the command of Uniondale Chief of Department George Martinez [7500].
