Charles Lindbergh Boulevard [3-18-23]

On the evening of Saturday, March 18th, 2023 the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the vicinity of the Long Island Marriott. Uniondale Second Assistant Chief George Martinez [7502] was the first to arrive on scene and was met with a significant brush fire in the preserve northeast of the hotel – closer to Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. A first alarm assignment was requested along with the Drone Unit from the Mineola Fire Department to assist. Firefighters soon gained access to the seat of the fire and put at least two hand lines into operation to extinguish it. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
