Forest Road [4-21-15]

At 22:36 hours on the night of Tuesday, April 21st, 2015 the Valley Stream Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 68 Forest Road off of Eastwood Lane. The additional given by Nassau County Fire Communications was that the homeowner called and stated that their office was on fire. Moments later the automatic alarm was also received. When units arrived on scene they had smoke showing from a private dwelling and a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted. Valley Stream Engine 343 was first due and had at least two lines stretched and operating. Valley Stream Ladder 345 was the first truck company to arrive on scene and took to the front of the home. Hewlett was notified for the FAST and was on scene with Ladder 303. Units from Elmont and Malverne stood by for Valley Stream during the operation. Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the second floor office fire. All fire department units were under the command of Valley Stream Chief of Department Charles Brocher [3400].
