Lutz Drive [2-14-21]
Late on the afternoon of Sunday, February 14th, 2021 the Valley Stream Fire Department operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] at a home on Lutz Drive off Miller Place. Firefighters battled fire on the first and second floors of a two-story private dwelling. Lynbrook was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Ladder 427. Among the other mutual aid departments called to the scene was Malverne, Elmont, and West Hempstead. Firefighters stretched and operated at least two hand lines and had the main body of fire knocked down. All occupants made it out of the home safely and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Standing by for Valley Stream during the operation were units from Lawrence Cedarhurst and Hewlett. All fire department units were under the command of Valley Stream Chief of Department O’Brien [3400].
