Harrow Lane [4-3-16]
Around 09:00 hours on the morning of Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 the Wantagh Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 21 Harrow Lane off of Gardiners Avenue. Moments after the first fire department units arrived on scene a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted for a fire in private dwelling. Levittown was notified for the FAST and responded with Ladder 621. Wantagh Engine 692 was the first engine to arrive on scene and went on to stretch three lines with two going into operation. Within twenty minutes firefighters had the fire knocked down and began the overhaul process. The fire was believed to have been caused by a downed tree, pole, and power lines in the rear of the home on a morning that saw strong wind gusts. All fire department units were under the command of Wantagh Chief of Department James Bloomfield [6900]. No injuries were reported.
