Seaford Avenue [11-6-20]

Late in the afternoon on Friday, November 6th, 2020 the Wantagh Fire Department was called to a house fire on Seaford Avenue off Spur Lane. Those first to arrive on scene were met with fire on the second floor of a two-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. As the operation went on companies battled heavy fire on the second floor and in the attic of the home with extension to the first floor. Firefighters’ efforts were hampered by a modified layout in the residence. All occupants made it safely out of the home, and it took approximately one hour for the scene to be placed under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Wantagh Chief of Department Kelly [6900].
