Sunrise Highway [1-13-17]

On the night of Friday, January 13th, 2017 the Wantagh Fire Department operated on the scene of a motor vehicle accident with fire involving four cars and a box truck. The accident was in a train station parking lot on the north side of Sunrise Highway just east of Seaford Avenue. Multiple hand lines were put into operation to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were hindered by downed wires and trees across the fire ground. The four vehicles that were involved in the accident were parked and unoccupied at the time of the accident; however, the crash claimed the life of the truck driver who was believed to have been speeding down Sunrise Highway and lost control.
