Berryhill Court [1-4-19]

Late on the night of Friday, January 4th, 2019 the West Hempstead Fire Department was called to a house fire on Berryhill Court in the dead end off Mayfair Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire at the rear and on the first floor of a two-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Hempstead, Lakeview, Franklin Square and Munson, East Meadow, South Hempstead, and Elmont among others. Firefighters had the main body of fire knocked down within thirty minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of West Hempstead Chief of Department Norton [7600].
