Broadway [2-9-20]

On the night of Sunday, February 9th, 2020 the Westbury Fire Department along with mutual aid units operated on the scene of a working fire on Broadway [between Catherine and Elizabeth Streets]. Upon arrival firefighters were met with fire showing on the four-side exterior of a two and a half story occupied multiple dwelling. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation – quickly knocking down the fire and keeping it from extending into additional areas of the building. Jericho, Hicksville, and Carle Place were among the departments called for mutual aid. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Kenny Gass [9601].
