Cobalt Lane [4-26-20]
Late on the night of Sunday, April 26th, 2020 the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at a home on Cobalt Lane off Cypress Lane East. Those first to arrive on scene were met with nothing showing; however, after further investigation a fire was found in a first-floor bedroom. Moments later a working fire was transmitted with the main body of fire located near the home’s electrical panel. There was minor extension to the second floor. Firefighters stretched three hand lines with at least two lines put into operation. Among the departments called for mutual aid was East Meadow, Hicksville, Carle Place, and Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The scene was placed under control within thirty minutes and all occupants made it safely out of the home. All fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Kenny Gass [9601].
