Cypress Lane West [3-19-18]

At 17:59 hours on Monday, March 19th, 2018 the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 172 Cypress Lane West off Cardinal Lane. Responding fire department units were advised by Westbury Fire Dispatch that multiple phone calls were being received reporting the fire. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with heavy fire in a two-story private dwelling. The working fire was immediately transmitted and went to reach a multiple alarm status. Multiple hand lines were put into operation to fight the fire which was placed under control just past the one-hour mark. Among the departments mutual aided were Farmingdale, East Meadow, East Williston, Hicksville and Bethpage. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department John Bartunek [9601].
