Juniper Lane [4-10-20]
On Friday, April 10th, 2020 Westbury firefighters along with mutual aid units operated on the scene of a second alarm house fire in the dead end of Juniper Lane off Maplewood Drive. Those first to arrive on scene were met with heavy fire on the second floor of a two-story private dwelling with exposure problems on the number two side. Firefighters quickly put two hand lines into operation on the second floor resulting in the main body of fire being quickly knocked down. There was minor extension to the exposure and extensive overhaul that needed to be done to both structures. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Syosset, Hicksville, Carle Place, Jericho, and East Meadow among others. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
