Livingston Street [12-21-15]
The Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 731 Livingston minutes after 05:00 hours on the morning of December 21st, 2015. Westbury First Assistant Chief John Bartunek [9602] was among the first to arrive on scene and was met with fire showing from the one, two corner of a two story private dwelling. The working fire was then transmitted and Hicksville notified for the FAST. Westbury Engine 966 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and had two lines stretched with one in operation. Firefighters were able to make a quick knockdown of the fire and keep it from extending past the original fire room. All searches were negative and the cause of the fire was under investigation. Additional mutual aid was provided by East Meadow, Jericho, Plainview, and East Williston. All fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Doug Ingram [9601].
