Madison Street [7-2-20]
In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a house on fire on Madison Street off School Street. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire showing from the second floor of a two-story private dwelling. A working fire was trnamsitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Jericho, Hicksville, and Carle Place. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Westbury Chief of Department Kenny Gass [9601].
